Individual Therapy

I provide individual therapy to adults and older adolescents. I meet with people either in person at my office in Minnetonka, MN or online via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video call platform to people located anywhere in the state of Minnesota. I am in network with most major insurances, including: BCBS, HealthPartners, United Healthcare, Optum, Medica, UMR, Ucare, Medicaid, and Medicare. Exact cost varies depending on your plan and coverage. I also offer private pay appointments to people who don’t have, or prefer not to use, insurance.

What to expect in therapy:

  • Prior to our first appointment there will be paperwork to fill out, including legal consent forms and a questionnaire that helps me to know what topics to spend more time and focus on in our first meeting.

  • Our first meeting, also called the intake appointment, will focus on going into more detail about the things you are coming in for and how different areas of your life are going for you. This helps me to get a clear picture of what is going on for you, what would be most helpful for us to work on, as well as goal setting for your time in therapy.

  • Followup appointments will include diving deeper into the topics you’re wanting to work on. Exact focus and approaches will vary depending on what is going on for you. We will discuss this together.

  • I take a collaborative approach to therapy. I see you and I as partners in approaching the work together. I have clinical expertise, but you are the expert in your own life. I see my role as helping you to:

    • explore and define your values, wants, and needs

    • learn how to get in touch with and process your emotions in a healthy way

    • learn new skills that would be beneficial to helping you to reach your goals and achieve the life you want
